Enrichment
At Waddingham Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil has access to a rich, broad and inclusive programme of enrichment opportunities, regardless of background, ability, need or circumstance. We believe that enrichment plays a vital role in developing confident, aspirational and well-rounded young people by providing experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom and promote personal growth.
Our enrichment strategy is designed to give all pupils opportunities across a wide range of areas, including:
- Arts, music and performance
- Sport and physical activity
- Leadership and pupil voice
- Outdoor learning and environmental experiences
- Cultural and community engagement
- Personal development and wellbeing
- Careers and aspiration-building experiences
- Educational visits and visitors
- Clubs, themed events and celebrations
We carefully monitor participation to ensure that all groups of pupils, including disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND and those who may face barriers to participation, can access and benefit from enrichment opportunities. Where required, additional support is provided to remove barriers and encourage engagement.
Through our enrichment offer, pupils are encouraged to discover new interests, develop talents, build resilience, work collaboratively and contribute positively to their community. Opportunities are planned so that every child experiences a breadth of activities and develops the knowledge, skills and cultural capital needed for future success.
By providing equitable access to enrichment across all areas of school life, we aim to ensure that every pupil leaves our school with memorable experiences, wider aspirations and the confidence to pursue their interests and ambitions.
By the time children leave Waddingham Primary School, children will experience the below experiences encompassing civic, cultural, outdoor, sport and life and future skills.
